According to a recent study by Gallup, companies with higher levels of employee engagement have 65% lower turnover, 22% increase profitability and 10% higher customer satisfaction.
In order to cultivate a culture of job satisfaction and employee engagement, Eastridge Workforce Solutions began the #LoveMyJob campaign on February 17, 2015. As the purpose of Eastridge is to provide people with opportunity and enrichment through work, we challenged others to share reasons why they love their jobs.
Numerous companies joined us in #LoveMyJob campaign to celebrate workplace happiness. To encourage people to participate in the #LoveMyJob campaign, we held a #LoveMyJob contest with prizes to award the companies who shared the most on social media. To participate in the contest, people were prompted to post on their social media networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) the company they work for and what they love about their job, followed by the hashtag #LoveMyJob. The company with the most employees, who shared why they loved their job, would win a $2500 check to donate to the charity of their choice.
The #LoveMyJob contest concluded in early May and the winner of the $2500 donation check was announced through social media. By the end of the campaign, the company with the highest number of shares from its employees was Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
Employees shared why they loved their jobs at Rancho Valencia Resort, which included the little things the company provides for its employees like the fresh fruit sitting at the front desk to its close relationship with charities like the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Employees believe Rancho Valencia is creating a workplace culture that everyone loves to be a part of.
Adam Svet, President of Workforce Management, presented the $2500 donation check to Rancho Valencia on July 14, 2015. Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa chose the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), an inspiring local foundation, as their charity of choice to receive the $2500 donation.
Why Challenged Athletes Foundation?
Diana Robbins, Creative Director of Rancho Valencia, shared “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to donate to the Challenged Athletes Foundation as this charity is near and dear to Rancho Valencia. The resort’s ownership team plays a large part in the organization with owner Jeffrey Essakow, founder of CAF, at the helm. Additionally, resort owner, Jeff Jacobs, is an active board member and sponsor with Qualcomm.”
“Rancho Valencia recently hosted ‘A Celebration of Will,’ a CAF Gala, to honor the legacy of Robin Williams, one of the resort’s largest events to date. Team members from Rancho Valencia have also participated in the CAF’s Million Dollar Challenge, a 620 mile coastline ride from San Francisco to San Diego.”
